hello 2012

This feels like a fresh start.

The end of each relationship feels like a damaging end to a mini stage of my life. And each recovery process, if not dealt with properly, keeps me in the stage that should have ended.

I have had the blessing to indulge in a short-lived dream and imagine the dramatic lifestyle change I would have had entered myself into. I have also been blessed with the necessary trials that will mould me into a better person for the world. I can't even begin to list the events that have made me feel like the most fortunate person in this world... This path hasn't been easy for me, but it wasn't unbearable. Along the way, I started seeing the love I receive with greater clarity.

Today I feel grateful to have been born into a family of quirky members. Without my quietly supportive family, I wouldn't have been able to set my mind to recovering quickly. I feel grateful to my bunch of friends who stick around no matter how stupid they think my decisions are, and how wilful I have been acting. Friends who are so unique in their own ways and very special to me. Friends without whom I might not have gotten out of wallowing so quickly. Friends who have been with me for years, and friends whom you have let me rediscover.

Thank you dear lord for the opportunities you have given me to grow, and the supporting figures you have placed to accompany me along the journey.

I thank you also for the new friend I have made, who might or might not stay with me while I walk this long road, but who has offered me his hand when I was trying my damndest to climb out of that pit. As with alcohol reliance (merely an analogy), I know I shouldn't take him as a crutch. I am better now.

I now recognise where my kiosks are, should I need more fuel to go on.

Onward!
